What Marriage Is
A marriage of two individuals is a serious and lifelong commitment. Marriage should not be entered into hastily. The vows, when spoken, must be taken seriously by both the groom and the bride. Do not marry under false pretense. When you vow to love one another until death do you part, mean it. Marriage is a partnership, a union. It is not meant for one to benefit and not the other. It is not meant for one to suffer while the other gains. It is not based on vanity, greed or personal benefit. Marriage is meant for two to experience the joy of love,
the knowledge of acceptance, Knowing you can both count on one another
Stand by one another Put the other person’s needs, Feelings and wants before your own. Respect one another’s differences Celebrate those things you have in common. Be there to comfort your spouse when experiencing loss and pain, Provide your love without hesitation. Understand you will both grow and change But if you keep one another first after God You will experience the love God intended, that is real and beautiful. For the rest of your lives.
May God Bless You and Guide You as You Make This Very Important Step Together. - Officiant Pamela Docken
What Marriage is Not Marriage is not abusive, demeaning or one sided. No one who enters this union should suffer at the hand of the other. |
